Reina
Duran has been with Armstrong Garden Center since August of 2018. Prior to
joining the team, she received her Permaculture Design Certificate in 2010, and
worked on various Organic Farms throughout Santa Barbara County thereafter.
Reina then went on to earn an Organic Farming Certification from UC Santa Cruz
in 2017 and is a certified California Naturalist. She adores Southern
Californian chaparral plant communities, as they are abundant in the Angeles
National Forest that is close to her home. She also loves fruit trees and
can offer in-depth advice for pruning and fertilizing.
Reina
loves the mountains and often spends her free time camping and hiking in the
San Gabriel Mountains and tending to her home garden full of Native Plants,
Cacti and Succulents, seasonal vegetables, and fruit trees. She is also a
dedicated volunteer with East Fork's Golden Preservation that leads Trail and
River Cleanups along the San Gabriel River.
When
asked what her favorite part of her job is, Reina answered, "I am so grateful
that I get to work outdoors, as well as have the opportunity to share my love
for growing food, creating beautiful garden retreats, and helping to educate
the public about Native Plants and waterwise alternatives. At Armstrong Glendora, we
have a wonderfully diverse team that is very well-educated horticulturally and is always
sharing advice with customers and associates, alike. We pride ourselves in
offering the best customer service and expertise in the industry. "
No
matter which season we are in, here at the Glendora location we are always
abundant in selection and ready to assist with all of your gardening
needs. Our friendly and diverse team welcomes you as you navigate your
gardening journey; whether that be for ornamental shrubs, roses, fruit trees,
vegetables, annuals, houseplants, or even to lend an extra eye while choosing
pottery colors or fountain style, we have all of the knowledge and service
available to help make your garden a success.
